Handsome Robbie moves to Powell River

Handsome Robbie has found a home!  Well, he actually found it last weekend but I held off posting to make sure he settled in okay :-)

Handsome Robbie found himself in care after being found tied to the shelter gate; it was a bit of a convoluted route that led him to the shelter gate but after running his picture in the Coast Reporter as "Found" and asking for anyone that knew him to contact us, his previous owners contacted the shelter and gave us his background history and how he ended up where he did (be aware of giving your dog away for free).  Turns out Robbie had been rehomed due to playing too rough with the chickens. 

Handsome Robbie, is of course, handsome.  But not only is he handsome, he's also smart and knows what to do when you ask him . . . shake a paw, sit, down, speak, down, play dead, roll and drop it!  He also has great recall we found out that he likes to drink from a water hose and absolutely loves playing soccer - which he is excellent at. Good with people he knows and female dogs - Robbie wasn't always the best with other male dogs and did need proper intros to any new male canine friends.  Give him a squeaky toy or a ball and Handsome Robbie turns into a pup :-)  But he is still a lot of dog!  Strong and requiring a firm but fair leader.

Ready to bond and move on to a new life, it still took a while (3 months!) for the right people to come along but that day did arrived - as it usually does - and Handsome Robbie has now gone to live in Powell River after a couple with lots of dog experience spotted him listed in the local paper as Audrey (the Powell River volunteer branch manager) helps spread the word by listing Sunshine Coast dogs in the Powell River Peak.  After contacting the shelter staff and filling out an application the couple caught the ferry to the lower Sunshine Coast, met Handsome Robbie and fell in love with this handsome boy  . . . who travelled back to Powell River with them to start a new life !
