Happy Ending ~ Handsome Robbie!

After several months in care Handsome Robbie was recently adopted to a home in Powell River . .  here's his story http://sunshinecoastspca.blogspot.com/2012/02/handsome-robbie-moves-to-powell-river.html

Robbie's new people have already sent an up date on how he is doing along with some pictures!  Sounds like everything is going well, except for chasing the cats.

Hi everyone at the Sunshine Coast SPCA

It's me, Robbie writing to you from beautiful Powell River on the Northern Sunshine Coast. I have been here a week and I love it! My Pack Leaders take me out 4 times a day rain (mostly) or shine. I have small walks and then in the afternoon a big trip to the ocean or a lake. I like the lake best because I can drink the water and swim in it and my fur looks better when I dry off. I also smell better.

I have made some doggie friends. There are three dogs that play ball or tag on the field. Two live together and one is new like me. Everyone is older than me, so I am not top dog. There are two girl dogs and a boy like me. We are all nearly the same size.

My Pack Leaders make me remember my manners. They are firm but kind. The lady even speaks to me in French! I love when she speaks French it makes me feel calmer. I get good meals and wonderful treats. I like treats so work hard to earn one. I am walking better on the leash and all the trucks and cars don’t scare me any more. I sleep in a crate and I like it. I stay there at night because I still have my problem with cats. Pack Leaders do not like it when I go after the cats. They were told that I liked cats, well surprise I like chasing them! They are working with me to correct this habit. The cats live in the basement now. The come upstairs when I am in my crate. Three times I have gone after the cats in a big way so I go to my crate at bedtime. I sure hope I can overcome this problem. My Pack says they love me and I am a little rough around the edges. They are working gently but firmly to make me smoother.

I saw my doctor, Dr. Barnes and he gave me a rabies shot. He thought I was so handsome. All the ladies in his office said that too. Actually many people here say “oh he is so handsome”. Wonder how they know part of my name? Dr. Barnes was impressed with me because I was relaxed and laid on the floor, He thought that was good for a youngster like me. Actually Pack Leaders took me swimming at the lake before my appointment and I was pooped!

Pack Leaders had me enclose some photos of me - Handsome Robbie at the beach in downtown Powell River. I insisted that they make them (they were hard copies, not digital). I let them be in a couple because, well it is their camera.

I won’t forget your or your kindness.

BowWow for now.

Handsome Robbie
