Kannika, Phoebe and Janie go home

Bit behind on posting about Kannika, Phoebe and Janie  . . .  they actually went home last week!

Phoebe is a young cat who was brought to us as a stray, and as is so often the case . . . . no one was looking for her.  Fantastic with people, Phoebe purred up a storm and enjoyed interacting with you while at the shelter, but wasn’t quite so keen on other cats, she's wasn’t a thug she just tended to keep to herself.  But, that could just be due to living the shelter life, which does not always reflect what a cats behaviour is like once in a home.  Cats do like to keep you guessing :-).  Phoebe, who was fine with a family visiting the Communal Room that included some noisy and active kids, has – as you can guess - gone to live with a family that includes, you guessed it, kids!

Janie was transferred here from the Kamloops branch to help her find a new home; hard to believe but Janie first found herself at the local Animal Control in Kamloops with her kittens (since adopted). Janie is a shy and quiet cat who appears at first glance to be a bit aloof, looking for all the world as if she wants to be left alone. But, if you just take a few minutes to discreetly observe Janie you'll catch her watching you, curious but not brave enough to venture over . . . but she is really just waiting for you to befriend her. If you’re not deterred by Janies lack of interaction at first and start petting her you will soon hear a faint purr, then feel a lean in against your hand, then a bit louder purr. Janie is just unsure and doesn't have a lot of confidence but deep down inside wants to be your friend.

But nevertheless, Janie was a cat that generally waits a long time for a home.

But that was not to be for Janie, a woman visiting the Communal Room with her daughter looking for a new companion to join their home spent several hours with the cats, taking their time to select the right companion. . . and shy and quiet Janie was the lucky cat that went home that day.

Kannika is a young well-mannered dog who is not only stunning she's smart . .  she knows sit and down and is attentive and eager to learn more; she also has wonderful recall and found herself homeless due to her people moving.  Affectionate and a cuddler, Kannika enjoys being brushed and hanging out with her people and being young enjoys a game of fetch – though two balls are required as Kannika is not inclined to share her ball (or toys), yet J  A busy girl Kannika is no lay about and when she arrived did not understand that meals would be coming regularly - she arrived quite underweight – so was looking for an active home.

Many people inquired about Kannika, but she was generally larger than they thought or not a good fit!

But Kannikas’ big day did arrive and the right match came along . . . . she has gone to live with a single young man, with no other pets so will be the one and only spoiled girl that she deserves to be!
